  • On March 18, 2013 and April 9, 2013, BDE Technology together with Swiss EM Microelectronic and its distributor Mostyle hosted a Bluetooth low energy technology and application seminar separately in Shenzhen and Shanghai cities.

At this Seminar, BDE’s CEO Dr. Tian and engineers introduced BDSLETM which has gotten BQE qualification of Bluetooth SIG (QDID:B020484), BDSLETM’s application mode and case study; Wireless product manager Philippe Koller of EM Microelectronic delivered a speech giving people a deep impression of EM’s Bluetooth Smart product; it’s a great honor to have Bluetooth SIG APAC Technical manager Mike Lu to bring the progress and up to date of Bluetooth technology, and Bosch to introduce the future application combined with BLE and MEMS sensor technologies; and the final agenda is BLE application demonstration gave by BDE’s engineers. Attending this seminar can help wireless application engineers quickly and easily know BLE, its novel applications and how to develop.

In the past, classic Bluetooth technology was widely used in wireless headphone, wireless sound box and Bluetooth Uart transmission etc. Global shipment Bluetooth devices reached nearly 2 billion in 2012 alone which indicates that classic Bluetooth technology has achieved great success. Today, Bluetooth low energy technology lead to innovative Bluetooth application storm as BLE has many outstanding advantages such as low power, low cost, short wakeup time and interconnection with cellphone or MID. So far, the shipment of BLE devices has gotten large volume in sports fitness and mobile healthcare market. And too many projects embedded with BLE are under development in the applications of consumer electronics, smart home, automotives and industry.

According to ABI Research, global shipments of Bluetooth devices are expected to 2.5 billion by the end of 2013. And cumulative shipment will add up to 27 billion by the end of 2017. Currently, the average number of Bluetooth devices’ shipment is about 7 million.
